Chicken Skin; It’s one of the most common skin conditions which affects people today. Infact, according to The British Skin Foundation, as many as one in every three people are affected by this harmless condition. Known by its scientific name Keratosis Pilaris, it causes rough skin with reddish type goose bumps, mostly by blocked hair follicles, ceased thanks in part to an overproduction of keratin in the body.

While everyone should be aware that there is no particular cure at hand, it often clears up in later life. Many skin products on the market today, “claim” to clear up the signs of chicken skin but more often than not, there has been no single contender which has out shone them all…. until now.

That’s because a new boy’s in town and it goes by the name of Ameliorate. Playing on its actual meaning, Ameliorate means to ‘Make Better’ and so far, it seems to be working!

With 3 top UK beauty awards to date, and some serious outstanding reviews, it’s hard to miss what all the fuss is about. A product like this could be a game-changer, So we put Ameliorate to the test to see if it truly stands up to what it claims to do: ‘Say Goodbye to Chicken Skin’.

Ameliorate uses Lactic Acid, naturally found in the body to kickstart the skins process of natural exfoliation. This gently removes the build-up of dead skin and replenishes moisture, leaving skin ultra soft and smooth all while hopefully reducing the appearance of that dread goose-bump effect.

While Ameliorate does not claim to be a fast acting solution, they do warn that the process can take up to a few months with severe cases. We are testing Ameliorate over the next couple of months to see exactly how effective it is. Of course, we will keep you up to date with the results in a future post, so keep your eyes peeled for that one.

For now though, while Ameliorate is still quite small and by that we mean a non-household name, it’s easy to see why it has gained so much attraction with its high ratings. Smooth and non greasy it applies easy and at first test we recommend it for those of you who suffer from this inconvenient condition too!

Stay tuned to find out how our test of Ameliorate goes over the next few months. Have you tried Ameliorate before?
